Deputy Director of SPbFRI took part in the meeting of SBEA Working Group "Forest Network of the Barents Region"

The meeting of the SBEA Working Group "Forest Network of the Barents Region" was held on June 2, 2017 in Pushkino, Moscow Region, with the support of the Federal Forestry Agency (Rosleskhoz), on the basis of the Federal Autonomous Institution OF Additional Professional Education "All-Russian Institute for Advanced Training of Leaders and Forestry Specialists". Deputy Director of the Institute Stepchenko Alexander Anatolyevich with the report "Development of branches of "green economy" in the Russian Federation, including bioenergetics, wooden housing construction and other promising directions" took part in the event as  SPbFRI representative. 

Specialists in forestry from Russia, Norway, Finland and Sweden took part in the meeting. 

During the meeting, there were considered the problems of adaptation of forests in the Barents region in the context of climate change, main directions of climate policy in the forest sector and development of branches of the "green economy" in SBEA countries. The issues of the state forest inventory in SBEA countries were raised.
